Because I had to visit a couple of my sites down around Norfolk yesterday. One in Suffolk, and then one up in Yorktown.
It just so happens, our route took us right past Hoss's Deli at about lunch time. (Total coincidence)
Last time I walked in there, I was in uniform and had a high-and-tight flattop haircut.
I've changed quite a bit since then, but Hoss's is still Hoss's, and the waitresses are still smokin' hot.
Best damn burger I've had in months.
I highly recommend that you stop by and sample the fare at this quality dining establishment.
This is where I talk about a crusty old retired military guy trying to come to terms with the world
Life is Hard. Wear a Helmet.

That a well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state, therefore, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; that standing armies, in time of peace, should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.

Definitely looks like it would be worth the drive up there...I mean judging from the menu and all.
Bill
I'm guessing they could serve many of the customers deep fried cardboard and they'd never notice.
Ummm... WHICH set of fare? The food or eyeball??? :-)
They have food?
Who can chew a burger when the tongue is hard?
That one in the patriotic red white and blue looks mighty...gingerish...
y'know, Norfolk isn't that far away...
Seriously guys. The food at Hoss's is fucking awesome.
It's up in Newport News. Take Route 17 north from 64, and turn left at the second light.
You won't be sorry.
Unless you get in a fight with one of the bikers you can always find hanging out there. That might suck.
I stop there at least once a month, it's on the way to the gun club. Good food, you just have to avoid a few of the Sons of Anarchy crowd (i.e. The Iron Order).
Joel - You shoot at Lafayette? I used to be a member when I lived down there.
Yup, it's about the only place around here with an outdoor range. The politics at the club are killer though. Too many old men with Texas sized chips on their shoulders.
