This is where I talk about a crusty old retired military guy trying to come to terms with the world
Life is Hard. Wear a Helmet.

Virginia State Constitution: Article 1; Section 13
That a well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state, therefore, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; that standing armies, in time of peace, should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.

It's like flushing a toilet, only louder.
+1 on Jess! :-)
Cool! Sense of humour is what keeps us going...!
One good think about Sandy...remember those twenty million rats that lived in the subway tunnels...
Hmm, with the subway shut down for a while, on top of Bloomberg thinking he can be an emergency-order-fueled little tinpot dictator... you think we're going to get an influx of NYC refugees out here in the real world, like the Nawlins refugees after Katrina?
While a chunk of the Katrina had to be forcible reminded that they were now in a society that was armed and enforced civility, it also meant a lot of really good cajun restaurants by good people who like their new homes better. I wouldn't mind a better bagel deli nearby!
Hey, the Statue of Liberty has some pretty nice gams...
Jess wins the Internets!
Jess - Good one!
Old NFO - Agreed
Momcat - Some people don't get that.
Coffey - Ha Ha. They now live in Boston. They're smarter than your average New Yorker...
Whimsical Wing - I don't think it will go that far, but you never know.
Larry - I always wondered...
Andy - Agreed!
